In-network doesn’t always mean best, and out-of-network doesn’t always mean bad. It depends on your actual needs, your preferences, where you like to shop, and how often you use the benefit. The goal isn't to blindly follow the network. The goal is to understand what each path actually costs you and what you're getting in return. Because if your favorite eye doctor is out-of-network but gives you a better overall price, more convenience, or a better experience, that matters. Likewise, if an in-network provider gives you access to negotiated pricing that dramatically reduces the cost of the glasses you actually want, that matters too. The network is a tool. It isn't the answer.
