When the IRS accepts your return after you e-file, it means they have successfully received it and completed some preliminary validity checks. It does not mean your refund has been approved and all is good with your return. Some of these checks include verifying your social security number, confirming your filing status, comparing basic information against IRS records, and looking for obvious errors.
